The budget is set on tasks. The project's budget is the sum of the budgets of its active tasks.
Set a budget
Type hours in the Budget field on the task. You can write 12, 12.5, 12h or 1:30, up to 9,999 hours. With many tasks, Add many at once is quickest.
Follow up
The project page shows Budget, Reported and Left, or Over budget when it has run out. The Time tab shows the time per period.
Which time counts?
Under Budgets count you choose billed time or worked time, for the company or for a project. Non-billable time always counts as worked time in the budget. Read more about the three times.
Who sees the budget?
- Members see the budget when reporting if Show the budget to members when they report time is on in the project.
- Internal reports can show Budget and remaining per task.
- External reports never show the budget.
